Assigning assortment

Assigning an Assortment to Business Units

The Assortment Policy entity allows you to add and/or remove Items from a Business Unit's assortment. The possible values are:

  • IN_ASSORTMENT - Items to be in a business units current active assortment
  • NOT_IN_ASSORTMENT - Items updated to this assortment type will be removed from assortment.

Assigning Items to assortment

By default Items created or updated on a Business Unit Group level will automatically be assigned to all underlying Business Units.

You can also do mass updates to existing Assortment Policies on Business Unit Groups. This allows you to assign and/or change the assortment for many items at once for several business units.

Assortment Policy assignments require that you have a Business Unit Group hierarchy structure defined with the type item-assortment.

Assortment Policy inheritance

To do this you need to use the Assortment Policy entity and submit the Item IDs that should be changed and the Business Unit Group ID that this change applies to. By doing so you will effectively add or remove all these Items on the provided Business Unit Group level and for all underlying Business Units. The consequence of this is that all underlying Business Units will either have the items in assortment or they will be removed from the assortment.
