Installation

This document describes how to obtain and install Checkout App.

Requirements​

System requirements for running the app can be found here:
Software and hardware requirements

Distribution​

Checkout App is distributed via Developer Portal on the following URL: https://developer.hiiretail.com/docs/checkout-app/releases-notes

Download the executable artefact from the link above and install it run to it on your target system. 

The app will be installed under the following paths:

Windows​

Configuration/Settings/Logs files: %APPDATA%\Hii Checkout
Binary files: %LocalAppData%\Programs\hii-checkout-app

Linux​

Configuration/Settings/Logs files: ~/.config/Hii Checkout

Updates​

Updates to the Checkout App are distributed automatically. Some configuration is needed for updates to work properly as described in Updates.

Release​

If the initial installation of the App was done on a Release version. Only new release versions will get pushed and updated automatically

Beta​

If the initial installation of the App was done on a Beta version. Only new beta versions will get pushed and updated automatically within the same Minor version

Initial Settings​

After a new installation the Checkout App must be configured, you configure it by reading the Initial Settings.
